We left the Oregon Coast and headed inland to McMinnville and the Willamette Valley. The Willamette Valley is between the Cascade Mountains and the Coast Range, more than 100 miles long and spanning 60 miles at its widest point, and home to more than 300 wineries.
The Willamette Valley is known for its world class Pinot noir. The wineries and tasting rooms are surrounded by beautiful vistas and views of the Cascade Mountains. We explored the quiet back country roads leading to backyard tasting rooms and also state of the art wineries. Found some good (and some not so good) wines. We did manage to put a dent in the pocket with some wonderful white and red wines!!!More from along the road later!
