On July 21, 2010 we left Newport and headed inland to McMinnville. It has been so windy and cool along the coast that we decided to head for some warmer weather! It was a short drive and a pretty one along the coast heading north and then east.
The Olde Stone Village Campground that we like to stay at is next to the Evergreen Aviation(home of the Spruce Goose Aircraft) and Space Museum(home of a Titan II missile). We have been to both museum's on our last visits. To our surprise when we turned the corner they had begun adding another building.... with a 747 sitting on the top!! We later learned they plan for a nine-room lodge and indoor water park.
One of the main reasons that we enjoy McMinnville and the Yamhill Valley is that is home to a great many wineries!! Naturally we had to visit a few and sample some of their wines. My favorite is Domaine
The weather was wonderful and warm after the cool coast.
From here we will head north to Washington state and Anacortes where we will spend a month, joining some of our NWA RV friends for good food, good times and a lot of laughs.
More later, until then,
Candy and Johnny
