Spring time at Lazy Days
Well. Spring is here and it was time again for the Retired Northwest Pilots Association (RNPA) spring luncheon. This year it was held in Ft. Meyers, Florida, and retired Flight Attendant Doni Jo did an excellent job of putting on the lunch. We had a great time seeing Flight Attendant and Pilot friends from days gone by when flying for an airline was a great job and a fun job!! We look forward to these luncheons each year to renew friendships and share stories of the times gone by.
It was also time for the RV-Flyers (retired Northwest Pilots that have RV's) to also gather for some good food, laughs and fun!
So on March 15th John and I loaded up the RV and headed over to Tamps. We set up camp at Lazy Days Rally Park. We stayed over night and then drove down to Ft. Meyers for the day to attend the lunch. Then back to Tampa and Lazy Days Park to join the RV-Flyers for a St. Patrick's weekend of food and fun!
For those of you that don't know, Lazy Days id the largest seller of RV;s in the area. We have been looking for a while to upgrade from our Trop i Cal coach to one a bit larger and somewhat newer. We had not found exactly what we wanted and could afford...... well..... as you can see from the photo, Santa must have thought we were very good lately and so... we are now the proud owners on a new RV - well, new for us. It was used but in great condition. We have upgraded to a 2006 Itasca, Meridian made by Winnebago. John no longer has to crawl under the slides to get to the storage compartments and I have so much more room inside that it is no longer a puzzle to find my pots and pans!!! The light interior is great, now I just have to decide where to put everything. John loves the way it handles and he is anxious for us to leave on our summer journey. We have been talking about our plans for the summer and will have the details worked out soon, so stay tuned for the summer updates. We are planning on leaving here near the end of May... See you out on the road. Hope you like our new home as much as we do.
Until later,
Candy and Johnny
