Update, January 2010

Christmas was very quiet at the Badger house, just John and I. We opened our presents and our Christmas stockings... a nice day! We went our to dinner later that day with some friends of ours John, Mary and Liz. What a wonderful dinner we had. The food and the conversation along with the wine were great!! A perfect way to spend the day.

New Years Eve and we went to the Yacht Club to celebrate. Vicki (a friend and club member) made the decorations.. it was a Chinese New Year! She even made the Chinese gate at the entry way... she is so talented!!! It was a fun way to bring in 2010.

On January 3, John and I went on a Royal Celebrity Cruise on the Ship Solstice. During the summer we had talked about it and several of our friends ( Jan & Chris, Kathy & Skip, and Courtney & Gary)wanted to join the fun.... the eight of us sailed off from Ft. Lauderdale. We made stops at Puerto Rico, St. Marten, Tortola and Labadee, Haiti. The weather was not perfect but the company was great! Once again we laughed and ate and drank lots of wine... we are talking about doing this again next year! The photo to the right was taken the first night.. here we all are in the Martini bar, the last photo was on the last night in the speciality restaurant. The ship was beautiful. It was still in its Christmas finery when we boarded...so beautiful!

Back home again and the planning can begin for the RV trip this summer... it will be time to pack up and leave again before you know it....

We bought a new car to tow behind the RV... a Subaru, Forrester. We traded in the Convertible... I will miss my little care but I was ready for a change... It does have a sun roof.... and it will hold lots of wine!!!!!!!

Well, that will catch you up on the travels of the Badgers......

Hope that everyone will have a wonderful 2010 and I will be blogging again this summer with more travels and new adventures.... until then.....

Thanksgiving in Minnesota

Thanksgiving and we were off once again! This time we got on an airplane and headed to Minnesota. The weather was good and not quite as cold as I had thought, although I do like to see it snow and then I can head back home to Florida.....with my snow fix for the year (except in the mountains).

We spent Thanksgiving with Angela, Jeff, Michael (5) and Abby (3). My mother joined us along with Daughter-in-law Kristy and Emery (2 months). (Keeth was flying over the holiday weekend. We know how it is with pilots!! ) We missed him but it was good to be together with family! Great grandmother loved holding Emery and Emery seemed to enjoy all the attention! Michael and Abby loved the baby and each took their turn holding her. Grandpa John survived the holiday although he was glad to return home to the peace and quiet.

The adventure continues!

The leaves turned beautiful shades of red and gold and we were off to Florida and home once again/
Once we were back home it was not long before we had a visit from John, Aimee along with John and Morgan. The came back for a visit from their home in China. They had moved there in May and this was their first time back for a visit. The kids are growing so fast. We had a great visit!! I took the kids to the beach and they had such a fun time playing in the waves and sand. All too soon it was time for them to leave and head back home to China. Not sure when we will get to see them again.... thank goodness for the computer and Skype!
